In everyday life, we often need to use an electrical outlet where there is no outlet installed or there is only one, and we need to plug in several devices at the same time. Or we need electricity to work in a remote place from home, such as with an electric machine in the garden, for example. Then power strips and extension cords come to the rescue.
HOW TO CHOOSE A SWITCH?
True to our policy of always being at the service of the customer, we would like to give you some advice on choosing a power strip. What should you consider when searching?
1. The power strip must be of the "schuko" type, i.e. it must have protective plates for zeroing, so that the appliance we are plugging in can be zeroed;
2. Take into account the power of the appliances that we will plug into the power strip. If it is designed for lower power, and we plug in a more powerful consumer, the appliance will start to heat up, the insulation will melt in places, which can lead to fire, short circuit or electric shock;
3. If we use several power strips connected in series one after the other, the resistance of the circuit will increase, which will make the fuse ineffective in the event of a short circuit (it will not trip). In such cases, it is better to choose an extension cord or a power strip with a longer cable.
4. Preferably, the power strips with a C key act as a fuse, which guarantees increased security and safety.
HOW TO PROTECT THE DISCONNECTOR FROM DAMAGE?
A damaged power strip can be one of the causes of a fire. Therefore, it is very important to know how we can prevent this from happening. We will share with you safety tips when operating power strips to minimize the risk of an unexpected fire.
When it comes to using extension cords and power strips to distribute electricity in different ways throughout your home, here's what you should keep in mind:
- You should never risk using a cord or power strip that is frayed, cracked, or otherwise damaged. The risk you will take if you use such a power strip is not worth it, considering what the consequences could be for you;
- If you need a power strip to use outdoors, first make sure that the specific power strip is certified for this purpose;
- Do not use power strips if their cables are hot or you notice anything else that is unnatural in any way;
- Always use power strips with long enough cords for your needs and with enough outlets for the appliances you will be plugging in. Keep in mind that it is dangerous to plug a power strip into another power strip;
- When using outdoor power strips, always check before plugging anything into them to make sure that no objects or, even worse, liquids have fallen into their sockets that could damage them. Indoor power strips are also not protected from liquids, dirt, or other unwanted objects. That's why it's a good idea to periodically check and clean them. And cleaning, of course, is only done when the power strip is unplugged.
- Do not keep the power strip cords on the ground when using them outdoors. And when using them indoors, keep the cords out of furniture and rugs. Whether you use power strips indoors or outdoors, make sure there are no flammable materials near them to prevent fires.
It often happens that damage to a home is caused by something that seems simple and easy to avoid. Checking your power strips and extension cords may take some time, but the loss of time is incomparably less than the damage that a breakdown can cause you.
WHAT DO WE OFFER?
With us you can find a wide variety of power strips and extension cords. For the former, the most important characteristics are the number of sockets, and for the latter, the length of the cable.
We offer power strips with 2, 3, 4, 5, 8 and 10 sockets. There is also variability in the cable lengths - there are models with a length of one and a half meters, 3 and 5 meters. The models also differ in design and colors /white and black/. Most are with a cable, but there are also those that are inserted directly into the socket. Our catalog also includes power strips with a C key as a fuse. For the sake of maximum safety and shock resistance, we also offer a model with a rubber coating. Some of the power strips are sold without a power cable.
