Maintaining an optimal body temperature is vital for the human body. Overheating and frostbite are equally dangerous, but the latter may occur more often.
Throughout our historical evolution, humans have invented many ways to keep warm on cold days and nights. Thanks to the use of electricity, we can afford cleaner and more constant heating.
HEATING WITH A FAN STOVE
It is difficult to say whether heating with electricity, and specifically with fan heaters, is more economical than other types of heating. It all depends on what area of the country you live in and what kind of home you live in, how well insulated the walls, windows, ceilings, floors, etc. are.
To make it easier for you to choose an electric heating appliance, we will provide you with useful information.
How do we estimate how powerful an appliance we need to heat a given room?
In general, the power of the electric heating device is selected as 1 kilowatt corresponds to 10 square meters with a ceiling height of 3 meters. That is, if you have a living room measuring 6 x 4 meters (24 sq m), the power of the device should be over 2kW. Here again, the insulation of the room must be taken into account - if your windows have old frames or the walls are paneled, a more powerful device must be chosen to compensate for heat losses. Conversely, with good insulation, such strong heating will not be needed.
Electric heating devices differ depending on where they are placed. They can be placed on the floor, under the floor, mounted on the wall or on the ceiling. This is also a criterion when choosing a heating device - in some rooms, for example, placing heating with open radiators on the floor is not desirable - for example, where there is a fire hazard or there are small children.
Fan heaters are the most versatile, easy-to-implement and inexpensive solution for combating the cold.
Colloquially called blowers, they are very simple devices consisting of an open-type heater and a fan. Generally, blowers for home use are of relatively low power (up to 2 kW). These devices quickly create a cozy atmosphere thanks to the directed warm air. In addition, they have small dimensions and weight, which make them easily portable from one room to another. They heat up quickly and circulate the air in minutes, if the room is not very large.
CHOOSING A FAN STOVE
When choosing a fan heater, pay attention to two things.
- If you need it for constant heating, it should be as quiet as possible. Some models can also rotate at a certain angle, thus warming the room faster, but this should not be the main criterion when choosing.
- The second important condition – the presence of a built-in thermostat. Many of the cheapest models do not have one. However, with the thermostat you will be able to set the desired room temperature, after which the device will turn off. This saves a significant amount of electricity.
The thermostat should not be confused with overheating protection. The latter is designed to turn off the heating device if, for some reason, the temperature inside it rises above the permissible level and becomes a prerequisite for a fire.
Almost all blowers that we have included in our nomenclature have a standard power of 2kW, which is controlled by a two-stage knob. According to their design, the models are of two types - vertical and horizontal. All have a temperature regulator, adjustable thermostat, overheating protection and summer ventilation function.
Our fan heaters are from proven brands in the industry such as DIPLOMAT, TESY, AIRELEC, ELDOM, ELITE, TERMOMAX.
In this product group we have also included bathroom heating appliances: fan and quartz heaters, as well as a heater with a dryer. All of them have the necessary high degree of moisture resistance and the necessary protection when working in contact with water splashes.
