In this product group, drywall planer models predominate, so we will focus on the description of this valuable tool in more detail.
WHAT IS A PLASTERBOARD GRADE FOR?
The plasterboard planer is used to process plasterboard sheets during their installation. One of the many reasons that make working with plasterboard or gypsum fiberboard facing sheets so attractive and preferred is their extremely easy processing. Both materials are mainly made of gypsum, which is why they are easy to process mechanically (cutting, drilling, planing, sanding, etc.). Cutting the sheets is easiest if, instead of cutting them, they are broken off along a shallow cut previously made with a miter knife.
They are produced with completely flat and smooth edges. From the front side of the plasterboard panels, they are rounded with a slight bevel towards the edge. They are installed tightly against each other, without the need for any additional processing. However, when the panel breaks, the edge becomes more or less rough and must be smoothed. The operation resembles planing as in the processing of wood. It is performed with a plasterboard planer - a special tool for plasterboard panels. The working surface of the planer resembles a large wood file (rasp) with the difference that it is a highly perforated sheet of sheet metal with well-sharpened edges of the holes. With it, you can carefully process the joints after installing the panels - it is a good idea to take care of the cut edges to give them a smooth beveled appearance. Once it is dulled, the sheet of sheet metal is replaced with a new one and the planer is “in the game” again.
THE PLASTERBOARD GRADE CAN ALSO BE USED FOR OTHER MATERIALS
The drywall planer has a universal application, because in addition to plasterboard and gypsum fiber boards, it can also be used to process solid wood parts, furniture boards, laminate, plywood, PVC pipes, etc.
TYPES OF PLATERS FOR DRYWALL AND HOW TO WORK WITH THEM
Planers differ mainly in the material they are made of, the size and shape of the body, as well as the type of the two handles. The larger ones are worked with by holding them with two hands - the back one guides and the front one presses the planer. The small ones are adapted for working with one hand. The sizes of the planer sheets are 60x40 mm, 140x40 mm and 250x40 mm.
WHAT IS A MASONRY'S MARK FOR?
Interesting offers in our sales list are also masonry scribers. This tool is used to visually determine perpendicularity to a horizontal plane and draw working contours. The scriber is indispensable in masonry and serves to build perfectly straight walls. Guided by the contours, craftsmen have no worries about following the exact vertical. The scriber can also play the role of a masonry plumb line, which is a tool for determining the vertical line and measuring the distance along the vertical when forming the corners of brick walls and installing columns, frames and boxes.
WHAT DO WE OFFER?
With us you can find a variety of plasterboard planers, which are only conditionally called that, since, as we have already noted, they are tools with universal application and can also be used for processing parts made of solid wood, furniture boards, laminate, linoleum, PVC pipes, etc. We offer planers made of metal and PVC. There are also differences in the lengths of the sheet metal working sheets - 140 mm and 250 mm. The smaller size is designed for working with one hand, and the larger one - with two. All models are from the STANLEY brand.
The same brand is used for the masonry scribers that are included in the sales lists in our store. The differences are in the housings - we have a model with an aluminum housing and a model with a plastic housing, the set of which also includes a tube of paint.
In this product group, you can also buy wood and drywall cutters, drywall installation tips, paint filler for marking rope - blue and red, masonry marker, spare planer sheets, etc.
