Parquet varnishes provide the longest-lasting coating option for wooden floors and stairs. The main requirement here is that the varnish forms a scratch-resistant coating, especially if you choose it for a kitchen, hallway or other room with active traffic. There are also very resistant transparent varnishes with a glossy and silky sheen (usually based on polyurethane), which provide maximum protection. They can be applied after other products for treating or painting wood. When working with polyurethane varnishes, the manufacturers' instructions regarding the intervals between applying successive layers must be strictly followed. If the second layer is applied faster than recommended, unevenness may appear in the coating, and if you wait longer than necessary, the adhesion between the layers is disrupted. In both cases, the performance characteristics of the film deteriorate.
In the Parquet product group, you will find products in different price ranges from proven brands such as DEKORATOR, AQUIS, SADOLIN and others.

PARQUET VARNISHES - TYPES AND PURPOSE

With us you can find both single-component parquet varnishes and two-component parquet varnishes , as well as parquet varnishes with a glossy finish and parquet varnishes with a matte finish . We also have hardeners .
From our website you can purchase a quick-drying two-component polyurethane varnish in combination with a hardener. It is used for varnishing wooden floors, office and household furniture, parquet and other wooden surfaces. Before use, the surfaces must be cleaned thoroughly. The varnish is mixed with a hardener in a ratio of 2:1 and applied using a paint roller, paint brush (which you can choose from the product group Varnish and painting tools ) or a spray gun. If necessary, the varnish can be diluted with a thinner for polyurethane systems. Within 4 hours after diluting the varnish, the resulting mixture must be applied. It is advisable to apply two layers. Polyurethane varnish for parquet dries up to 4 hours at 20°C.
We also have a one-component water-based parquet varnish based on acrylate and polyurethane emulsions and special Teflon additives. The varnish dries quickly and creates a hard coating that is resistant to wear and moisture. The color of the varnished surfaces does not change over time. This varnish is suitable for wooden floors, railings, paneling, office and household furniture, parquet and others. The varnish is applied to previously cleaned and healthy wooden surfaces using a roller, brush or paint gun (you can find a suitable one in the Paint Guns product group). If necessary, the varnish can be diluted with 5-10% water. It is recommended that varnishing be carried out at a temperature above 10°C. Immediately after varnishing, the tools should be washed with water.
In the Parquet product group you will also find a polyurethane-based anti-slip parquet varnish, intended for exterior use, such as terraces, balconies, verandas and decks. It dries in about 5-8 hours and creates a slightly matte surface that does not allow slipping. It has very good water-repellent properties, excellent protection of the wood against adverse weather conditions, as well as UV protection. It successfully protects against mold and mildew.

PRACTICAL TIPS FOR APPLYING PARQUET VARNISHES

It would not be superfluous if we allowed ourselves to give you some practical advice. Parquet is varnished to preserve the wood, emphasize its pattern and acquire a shine, satin or matte finish.
It is important to know that oak parquet usually gets a good finish with two coats of varnish, while beech parquet and pine flooring get a good finish with three coats of varnish. However, it depends on the usage of the room - for offices or other busy rooms, three coats of varnish are recommended regardless of the type of parquet.
Sanding is sometimes necessary between coats of varnish. After applying the last coat of varnish, it is a good idea to keep the room closed for 24 hours and to put it into operation after 48 hours.
After varnishing, the parquet is maintained with a damp rag and all preparations created for this purpose.
