Painting is a basic repair activity that is often required in households. Optimizing this work is of great importance because it affects everyone. This is where paint guns come into play.
Paint guns can be electric or pneumatic. The former are the ones we are interested in, as they are widely used in everyday life, while the latter are more narrowly and specialized in use, and are more for professionals.
The classic paint gun works with compressed air. However, this requires a compressor - a machine suitable for a more serious workshop, but not one that can fit in a tool cabinet on the balcony or in the basement. Therefore, electric vibration guns are used for home use, which in most cases successfully replace air guns. The electric gun is significantly cheaper than the “gun + compressor” set and takes up very little space. Last but not least, it can also be used to paint hard-to-reach places.
HOW DOES AN ELECTRIC PAINT GUN WORK?
The vibrating electric paint gun is suitable for any painting work when it is necessary to obtain evenly painted surfaces. In addition, especially when painting larger surfaces, it significantly increases the productivity of work compared to painting with a brush or roller. The paint is pushed out under high pressure by a small piston that moves back and forth - under the action of a strong alternating current electromagnet and spring. The jet is sprayed through nozzles of different diameters, designed for different density (viscosity) of the paint. The maximum amount of paint that such a gun can spray is 270–300 g/min. If the capacity of the paint tank is 1 l, this means that the contents will be enough for about 3–4 minutes of painting. The vibrating guns also have a special flexible extension that allows painting in otherwise inaccessible places. The width of the torch and the amount of sprayed paint are adjusted using an adjusting screw.
With the help of an electric spray gun, you can easily and quickly paint any surface. As we have already noted, this tool is widely used by home craftsmen, but it also often falls into the hands of professionals. One of the main reasons for its popularity is the efficiency of spraying, which guarantees economy in material consumption.
WHAT SHOULD WE LOOK FOR WHEN CHOOSING A PAINT GUN?
Power is one of the important characteristics when choosing an electric paint sprayer. It should be taken into account in the amount of work you have to do. The relationship is directly proportional: a larger area to paint requires a tool with more power. And vice versa.
The diameter of the nozzle is also an important indicator when looking for the right model. You should also pay attention to the maximum pressure , as well as the air flow rate , which is measured in milliliters per minute.
WHAT DOES THE QUALITY OF PAINTING DEPEND ON?
A good final result from painting depends mainly on three factors:
- Proper preparation of the painted surface: it must be smooth, well cleaned, dry, dust-free and degreased.
- Correctly selected density (viscosity) of the paint: when working with paints that are too thick, with a high viscosity, the coating looks like it has been sprayed in drops and has a matte surface. Conversely, when painting with paint with a lower viscosity than prescribed, it can easily flow, especially when painting vertical surfaces. In this case, experts give an unconventional advice for salvation - women's tights, with which you can lightly touch and absorb the splattered paint. The tights also perform another, also very important function - to strain the paint before pouring it into the gun tank.
- The way the gun moves and the distance between the nozzle and the painted surface: these are determined during the work, with the general rule being to hold the gun perpendicularly and at a distance of 25–30 cm from the painted surface. It moves evenly, painting successively in slightly overlapping stripes. The second coat of paint is applied after the first coat has completely dried. When painting larger areas, it is recommended to cross the paint stripes in the different layers.
Tip:
When painting indoors, the finely dispersed droplets of paint, like a mist, spread through the air, reaching even the most secluded corners of the room and sticking to all objects. Often, painting with a spray gun takes only minutes, which is immeasurably short compared to the time required to clean the objects stained with paint. Cover them in advance so that you don't get angry later!
WHAT DO WE OFFER?
We offer you two types of paint spray guns: electric and pneumatic /for compressors/, with electric ones being more common. The models have a wide variety of technical specifications. The powers vary in the range from 70W to 630W, and the tank volumes from 600 ml to 1300 ml. There is variability in both prices and manufacturers' brands. Models from industry leaders such as WAGNER predominate. We also have guns from BOSCH, BLACK & DECKER, RAIDER and others.
Almost all of our offers are for guns with a bottom-mounted tank. The advantages of this design over the top tank are the larger volume and the ability to paint steeper surfaces without the risk of paint dripping from the tank.
In the personal descriptions of the pistols, you can get a more complete idea of their characteristics and what work they can do for you.
