In this product group, we mainly offer chisels. A chisel is a tool with a specifically shaped cutting edge on its blade, used for carving, gouging or cutting hard materials such as wood, stone and metal by hand pressure, mechanical force or hammer blows. The chisel blade is made of reliable metal, most often highly hardened steel, and the handle can be wooden, plastic or rubber.
The chisel is used for making various joints, cutting teeth, riveting, etc. The width of the chisel is also chosen depending on the material being processed. When working with this tool, the workpiece must be firmly fixed so that both hands are free.
The chisel is an integral part of every carpenter's toolbox. It is distinguished by its simplicity of construction, while at the same time being widely used for various materials.
In carpentry, chisels with a straight or semicircular cutting surface are used, as well as chisels for wood carving, which have a different profile of the cutting surface.
CHISELS AND CUTTERS - APPENDIX
The chisel is among the tools that are most actively involved in woodcarving.
The woodcarving technology itself goes through several stages. First, a plastic drawing of the composition is made. Then, using indigo and a copying pencil, the carving ornament is copied onto the production board, carefully repeating all the contours of the motif. This is followed by rough carving of the background, at which stage the board is clamped to the counter and the empty spaces between the individual parts of the ornament are cut out with chisels with a width smaller than the size of the empty spaces. The carving itself is done roughly before the carving of the ornament, being careful not to carve deeper than the specified depth of the background. The chisel is held at an angle to the board, the cutter is placed close to the contours of the ornament, hammered in and the entire empty space is circled until the unnecessary wood is removed from it. Then the ornament is carved out. This is done with chisels whose cutting edge shape matches the shape of the contour to be cut.
The next stage is the alignment of the background. It is carried out with chisels with a smaller width than the place. Sketching the ornament is the first stage of the plastic design of a given relief carving. Sketching means to determine in a rough form the heights, slopes, curves, the lowest and highest places of the individual parts of the ornament. For this purpose, a whole series of chisels are used, always removing the lowest places in order to free the higher places for free work on them.
WHAT DO WE OFFER?
With us you can find a series of TOPMASTER wood chisels with a straight cutting surface, the width of which varies from 8 to 24 mm, and the length is 140 mm. The chisels are made of chrome-vanadium steel, which guarantees the tool maximum strength and long-lasting use.
We also have metal chisels that are equipped with guards, since when working with this material the blows are stronger and can lead to injury. There are two types of chisels: sharp and chisel. They also differ in size. And also in price classes: those from the lower range are manufactured by GADGET, and those from the higher range are from TOPMASTER.
In this product group we also offer a series of drilling tools from the Spanish company BIANDITZ, which is closely specialized in the industry. This brand produces cylindrical drills with a sharpenable blade, which are used for cutting, shaping and removing various metals. The drills vary in diameter from 2 to 6 mm.
