WHAT IS IMPORTANT TO KNOW ABOUT ROOF WINDOWS?
- Installation height: for roof windows with bottom control, we recommend the following optimal installation height: the bottom edge should be 150-170 cm from the floor and the central axis should be above the head to avoid injury.
Placing furniture under a bottom-operated roof window will make it difficult to access the handle. We recommend leaving space for optimal use of the roof window.
For roof windows with top control, we recommend the following optimal installation height: the lower edge should be 90-100 cm from the floor, and the upper edge should be 180-220 cm from the floor.
The top control allows you to place a table or sofa under the window and still be able to open the window comfortably.
- Size of the windows: the size of the roof window is determined by several factors: the purpose and orientation of the room, the environment, your personal preferences and the impression you want to create.
In the living room, as well as in the work areas, as much daylight as possible should be brought in, so we can consider larger glazed areas. The general recommendation is that glazed surfaces should represent at least 10% of the floor area of a given space.

HOW TO INSTALL A ROOF WINDOW?
With the roof ready, first make a hole in the wooden sheathing to remove a few tiles. Carefully cut and fold the vapor diffusion membrane so as not to cut it. Cut out the counter battens between the ribs and part of the supporting battens.
After removing the tiles that are within the reach of the roof window, the opening is cut out according to the size of the selected window. The frame is then installed. The tiles are then put back in place. If necessary, they can be cut. The requirement is that they cover the internal drainage channel without touching the window. Otherwise, in case of heavy rain, water could overflow and reach the window.
