Laminate flooring, also known as laminate for short, has become the most preferred and widespread flooring for the home in recent years, mainly due to its price/quality ratio. The reason is that this flooring fits perfectly into the interior of any home and is easy to maintain. Laminate flooring is environmentally friendly, is a wonderful insulator, retains heat wonderfully, and is easy to install. Laminate has another advantage - it is durable, will easily withstand your dog's claws or walking in shoes. To clean it, you only need to wipe it with a damp cloth and your floor will look like new for many years. The good thing is that it does not require much effort to maintain, and at the same time it is a stylish and practical solution, while simultaneously insulating and retaining heat in the room. You will hardly have any problems with the color of the laminated flooring, because the market offers all possible options so that the material matches that of the furniture.
WHAT DOES THE CHOICE OF SKIRTS FOR LAMINATE PARQUET DEPEND ON?
After the installation of the laminated parquet, in order to achieve completeness and a natural transition between the selected flooring and the walls, the installation of skirting boards is started. The choice of skirting board depends largely on the type of parquet board, but also on the characteristics of the walls in the room - how straight they are, are there many ovals and what type of wall finish is there. Skirting boards are also installed in order to hide the expansion joint left when laying the laminated parquet board. They can be installed with fasteners - clips, dowels and screws, and in rare cases they can be glued to the walls with silicone or assembly glue. Gluing skirting boards is not recommended, because in addition to making the skirting boards more unstable, when dismantled they can be separated with part of the plaster on the walls.
It is good to choose skirting boards with the same care as you choose laminate flooring. You should carefully assess the quantity you will need by measuring all the walls on which the skirting board will be placed, excluding panoramic windows, fireplaces, doors, etc. The color of the skirting boards is also important. Skirting boards with the same color as the laminate make the floor look larger, and vice versa - skirting boards with the color of the wall make the floor look smaller.
IMPORTANT: When choosing a skirting board type and installation method, check whether the walls in the room are flat. For oval walls or those with irregularities, it is good to use PVC skirting boards because of the flexible material they are made of. They will hide the irregularities. For perfectly straight walls, you can use MDF, veneered and classic skirting boards. Keep in mind that these skirting boards do not tolerate any bending and their installation should only be done on straight walls.
HOW ARE SILLS INSTALLED?
To install your skirting boards, you will also need skirting board accessories. These are the elements by which the skirting boards are attached to each other. The following accessories are known in practice:
– angles – external and internal;
– connecting joints;
– plugs – left and right.
Some skirting boards are mounted to the wall using special metal plates – clips. Fasteners are also needed, which are selected depending on the type of wall (brick, concrete or plasterboard) – dowels, screws or a rapid screw for mounting the skirting boards.
To calculate how many connectors you need, count the bends in the room, the corners at the chimney and other objects where external or internal corners are formed. A plug is placed in the places where the skirting board ends. Most often these are the doors of the room, if there is one door you will need two plugs - left and right. Connector joints are placed every 2.5 m of skirting board. For example, if you have a wall with a length of 6 m, you will need 2 joints.
For the sake of maximum user convenience, we will give you specific practical advice on the installation of the three types of skirting boards that we offer:
- Installation of PVC skirting boards without cable duct: the installation of these skirting boards requires the attachment of special metal plates (clips) to the wall, to which the skirting board is subsequently fastened. The installation of the clips is carried out every 30 cm. If the wall is made of concrete or brick, a dowel and screw are used, and if it is made of plasterboard - a rapid screw. The flexibility of the material from which these skirting boards are made allows their installation to be carried out on uneven walls and ovals.
- Installation of PVC skirting boards with cable channel: the installation of these skirting boards is significantly easier than the installation of PVC skirting boards without a cable channel. It is carried out after removing the cable tape directly through the skirting board itself without the need for additional fasteners. Depending on the type of wall, as with other skirting boards, a dowel and screw or a rapid screw is used. The flexibility of the material allows installation on uneven walls and ovals. An additional advantage of this type of skirting board are the silicone feathers at its upper and lower ends, which ensure perfect adhesion to the floor and wall and prevent the penetration of dust and water.
- Installation of wooden skirting boards: classic wooden skirting boards are installed using a special pneumatic tacker, working with special nails - hardened needles. These are small nails with a rectangular cross-section without a head, which when nailed "sink" completely into the skirting board and remain almost invisible. It is important to note that before installation, this type of skirting board requires the application of one coat of varnish, then light sanding with sandpaper and another coat of varnish. Then you can proceed with installation. After installation, the skirting board is varnished one last time with another coat of varnish. Wooden floor skirting boards allow you to varnish and paint it with a color of your choice to match the interior of your home, as well as any flooring.
WHAT DO WE OFFER?

The color range is impressive - be sure that you will find exactly what you need. There are dozens of shades that vary from light to dark. There are also those that imitate wood patterns, which are suitable for any type of flooring. There are also differences in widths and heights, while the lengths of the skirting boards are standard - 2.5 m. A large part of the items are in series that allow the formation of uniform compositions from the elements.
Skirting boards in our company are mainly of two types: without cable and with cable channels. The surface of PVC skirting boards without cable channels resembles a natural wood structure. They are mounted to the wall using metal brackets - clips. They are an extremely economical and practical option for a floor skirting board.
They have very good elasticity and hide the unevenness of the walls and floor, thanks to their flexible silicone edges. Their main advantage is the ability to hide multiple cables and easy disassembly.
With us you can also find classic wooden skirting boards with a length of 2 m and various widths.
