The concrete curb curb has versatile applications and is suitable for delimiting driveways, streets, boulevards, highways, pedestrian walkways and green areas.

TYPES OF CURBINGS

Concrete curbs serve to limit traffic areas with a difference in level and to strengthen the edges of the pavement. With the help of a suitable foundation, they must form a supporting bed that prevents the collapse of the roadway due to the transport load. The laid curbs outline the contours and levels of the transport areas. This is their main purpose. However, they can also play a decorative role as a restrictive fixing element in the design of garden paths, alleys, platforms, approaches. In this sense, curbs are divided into road / highway, garden and decorative.

FUNCTIONS OF CURBERS

Depending on the method used for laying the pavement (floating, bonded, mixed), the kerbs perform different functions. In floating (unbonded) paving, on the one hand they serve as a limiter, and on the other hand they perform a static function. The vertical forces in the pavement must be converted into horizontal forces and ultimately taken up by the kerbs. According to the intended load, the height of the kerb must be such that good fixation can be achieved and the bordering structure must be closed to its full height. The kerbs must be fixed to a minimum of 1/3 of their height with unreinforced drainage concrete on a minimum 20 cm foundation. When there is a bonded installation of the pavement (gluing), the kerbs must be fixed to the underlying concrete. In the case of large distances due to thermal expansion, it is necessary to provide expansion (temperature) joints in the strip of kerbs, which must subsequently be filled with an elastic material. With the exception of tongue and groove kerbs, which are placed tightly, for all other kerbs it is necessary to leave a joint of 8-15 mm, which is subsequently filled with concrete mortar. When it is intended that the joint between the individual kerbs is not filled with mortar, it is not necessary to leave an expansion (temperature) joint.

CONCRETE IS PREFERRED. ADVANTAGES OF CONCRETE PRODUCTS

Concrete is the most produced building material in the world. This is due on the one hand to its natural origin, and on the other hand to its enormous durability. So we can still admire, for example, the Pantheon in Rome, built 2000 years ago from concrete.
Concrete is an intelligent mixture of lime, cement and water with inert materials such as sand or gravel. The concrete slabs we offer are produced with individual additives and colored pigments that give the concrete particularly high resistance or a special appearance.
Concrete is made from natural materials and has the properties of a natural product - when heated, the material expands slightly and when cold, it contracts. The fact that concrete "lives" is evident from the patina that forms on concrete products over time and gives the material a more noble and natural appearance.
Concrete is an environmentally friendly building material that does not pollute the environment during production and use and can be completely recycled.
Advantages:
With the variety of shapes, colors and surface structures of our concrete products, we give your home an exceptional individuality. In addition, other special advantages of concrete products are high resistance, easy cleaning and long life.
- Beauty of shapes and colors: concrete products are anything but uniform. They offer rich and flexible individual design options through color, shape and surface.
- Easy repairs: if excavation work is required, the slabs are easily re-laid. The excavation site is no different from the surrounding area.
- High resistance: concrete products withstand even the highest temperatures. Preservation of the coarse-grained structure, as well as high resistance, preventing cracks and deformations, are other properties characteristic of concrete.
- Frost and alkali resistance: with concrete products, spring will come without cracks and deformations. SEMMELROCK products are frost and alkali resistant.
