ISOVER Fonas 31 (also known in professional catalogues as Bituver Fonas Tex 31 ) is a top-class elastic sound insulation membrane, specially developed for maximum impact noise protection in inter-storey floor structures. It consists of an extremely high-density non-woven polyester felt, factory-impregnated with a special bitumen mixture and backed with polyethylene fabric. With a thickness of 8 mm, this material provides a dramatic improvement in acoustic comfort by isolating the sound of footsteps, impacts and moving objects.

Unlike the thinner version (Fonas 2.8), the Fonas 31 model achieves a remarkable sound insulation reduction of 31 dB, making it one of the most powerful solutions on the market for the implementation of floating reinforced screeds. The membrane is factory-equipped with an edge on one side and a self-adhesive tape on the other, which guarantees a completely hermetic connection of the joints and prevents the ingress of cement slurry under the insulation.
