Description
MAPEI Mapefer is a one-component anti-corrosion cement mortar for the protection of rebar. Mapefer is used for realizing anti-corrosion protection of reinforcing irons when renovating concrete with Mapegrout series compensating shrinkage solutions or with ordinary cement-based solutions modified with synthetic resin-based latexes. It can also be applied on underground concrete structures.
Mapefer 1K is a one-component solution based on polymers in aqueous dispersion, cementitious adhesives and anti-corrosion agents, which is applied to reinforcing irons to prevent rust.
Mapefer 1K is applied in two coats with a brush on pre-cleaned rust rebar. The second layer should be applied 2 hours after applying the first, but preferably within 24 hours. It is recommended to cover the entire surface of the rods with an even layer. The total thickness of the two layers must be at least 2 mm. Rehabilitation and repair with Mapegrout series products must start after Mapefer 1K has dried (approximately 6 hours at +20°C).
