Activating compound for bonding 1 l Sika Aktivator-100 SIKA

Sika® Aktivator-100 is a high-quality, colorless activator specially developed to improve adhesion on various non-porous substrates. Based on solvent, the product reacts with moisture and creates active bonds between the substrate and sealants, adhesives or primers. It is ideal for processing before applying one-component polyurethane products from Sika®.

Sika® Aktivator-100 is designed for:

• Glass and ceramic coatings
• Cut or pre-treated surfaces
• Old polyurethane sealants and various paints
• Non-porous substrates when working with sealants and adhesives from the Sikasil® range
• Suitable for experienced professionals only. Preliminary compatibility testing on real substrates is recommended.

Technical characteristics:

• Chemical base: Solvent adhesion promoter
• Colour: Colourless to slightly yellow
• Application temperature: from +5°C to +40°C
• Coverage: Approximately 20 ml/m²
• Evaporation time:
  ≥ +15°C: maximum 10 minutes
  < +15°C: maximum 30 minutes
• Maximum time before recoating: 2 hours
• Shelf life:12 months when stored in a cool, dry place (≤ +25°C)
• Packaging: 1000 ml

Application method:

1. Clean the substrate from dust, grease and dirt.
2. Damp a clean, lint-free cloth with Sika® Aktivator-100 and wipe the surface.
3. Immediately wipe again with a dry clean cloth.
4. Apply a moderate amount - excess may impair adhesion.
5. If necessary, repeat activation within the maximum evaporation time.

Important: The packaging must be closed tightly immediately after use.
