Alkyd primer for steel surfaces Mephisto oxide red. Its application is for the protection of new and for the repair of old ferrous metal surfaces. Alkyd primer is also characterized by suitability for sanding. It has good storage behavior - it does not form compacted sludge.

Dries at normal air temperature or for 30 minutes at +110°C, with accelerated drying. The time of application of the second layer of primer is 24 hours, after complete drying of the first layer. The complete hardening of the applied layers of primer takes 7 days.

Apply with a spray gun, brush or roller. When spraying with a gun, dilute to 10% with thinner or Thinner AMV. When painting with a brush or roller, up to 5% thinner or thinner AMV is used.

Suitable substrates are ferrous metal surfaces. They must be well prepared in order to achieve the desired effect of applying the alkyd primer. It is necessary for the bases to be cleaned, degreased, as well as to be given a certain roughness. This can be done by sandblasting, staining or sanding. Surfaces must be thoroughly cleaned of rust, which is done with a wire brush or other suitable equipment.
