Wine additive - Potassium metabisulfite in a package of 20 years. Potassium metabisulfite is used in the production of wine for its sulfitation. The sulfitation itself is done in several ways - by direct application of sulfur dioxide through sulfuric acid or potassium metabisulfite. The wine additive prevents the crossing and oxidation of rotten grapes, increases acidity and improves taste. Potassium metabisulfite protects against bacterial spoilage.Application of Wine Additive - Potassium metabisulfite. The pre-calculated amount is dissolved in a little warm water. The mixture is stirred and added to the vessel for fermentation or storage of wine.
