The hammer drill is the “first cousin” of the hammer drill because it performs similar functions. The main purpose of this tool is to drill holes. It does this with equal success in a variety of materials.
A characteristic feature of perforators is that they have an electropneumatic mechanism for providing the blows during drilling. Thus, their power does not depend so much on the pressure of the worker, which has two main advantages - the force of the blows of the perforators remains high, without requiring much human effort. Which in turn is a prerequisite for longer work and at the same time ensures greater productivity.
The popular wisdom that all good things cannot be collected in one place also applies to this type of tool. Larger and heavier hammer drills drill faster, but also more easily fatigue during prolonged use. The greater weight is due to the fact that the body of the hammer drills and the mechanism for transmitting movement from the electric motor to the drill are usually made of aluminum-magnesium alloys.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS OF THE PERFORATORS
The power of the electric motor is one of the most important parameters when choosing a hammer drill, and in general, its higher values mean the possibility of faster drilling. Most electric motors are classic types with carbon brushes, the condition of which needs to be checked periodically and replaced promptly when worn. A convenience in this regard are hammer drills with an indicator that is activated when the brushes are worn but still usable. There are also models with self-switching brushes that automatically block the operation of the hammer drill at a certain degree of wear.
The drills are also equipped with an electronic unit for smooth adjustment of the chuck speed. The minimum speed is used at the beginning of drilling any holes. The main purpose of the high speed is for drilling holes with a small diameter.
For the efficiency of working with perforators, their parameters related to the blows of the drill are of great importance. The frequency of blows is given per minute and the higher it is, the smaller the particles of the removed material are, and accordingly the more precise the drilling is. The size of the particles is also directly related to the force of the blows, measured in joules (J). Logically, the greater force means faster drilling (other things being equal) and is characteristic of large and heavy perforators.
Among the undoubtedly important characteristics of each punch are also the possible diameters of the holes that can be drilled. They are indicated separately for concrete, steel and wood, and in rare cases - for non-ferrous metals.
COMBATING VIBRATION WHEN WORKING WITH A PERFORATOR
The impacts of the drilling tool are inevitably transmitted to the entire perforator, which is constantly vibrating. These vibrations are not only unpleasant, but also cause fatigue to occur more quickly with all the consequences of this - weakening of attention and reduced working capacity. In addition, daily prolonged work with perforators can lead to damage to health. All these reasons force manufacturers to constantly improve designs in order to reduce vibrations. Among the measures taken is the attachment of the electric motor to the perforator housing by a system of elastic elements. Special attention is also paid to the handles, through which vibrations are transmitted to the operator. They are usually made of rubber or other similar material and are connected to the housing by spring elements (the so-called vibration handles).
WHAT DO WE OFFER?
The technical characteristics of the models are so different that you can't help but find what you need. There is a great variety in parameters for all brands in the product group, which are BOSCH, MAKITA, SPARKY, RAIDER, BLACK & DECKER, DEWALT, SKIL and others. The variability is also reflected in the prices, which are in a large "gap", but are competitive on the market. RAIDER, for example, is present in this product group with the RAIDER PRO brand, which has an optimal ratio between price and quality.
More detailed information about the models and their extras can be found in their personal descriptions.
