Tulips of the variety Double Late Sunlover change their color from yellow to orange during flowering.They are winter hardy plants. They like warm and sunny places, but give satisfactory results in partial shade. Drainable clay-sandy soils are most suitable.
Watering is required only in the month of May during longer dry weather. They do not like fertilization with manure. They are fed with mineral potassium and phosphorus fertilizers, which are brought in when digging the place before planting the bulbs in the fall. After flowering, the seed box is torn off and left until the leaves turn yellow and dry. This usually happens in early June. Then the tulip bulbs are removed from the soil, cleaned, dried and put away in a dry and airy place until autumn, when they are planted again.
