Adhesive-putty mixture Prokontakt, produced by BAUMIT. It can be applied by hand or by machine. Putty glue is a factory-mixed, powdered mineral substance. Recommended for use in thermal insulation systems. Its quality and efficiency have been tested according to the ETAG 004 categorization. The adhesive-plaster mixture is composed of cement, organic binders, sands, additives. It can be used for internal and external application, characterized by good adhesion, hydrophobicity and easy processing. Its main purpose is for gluing and reinforcing facade thermal insulation plates of expanded polystyrene, plates of extruded polystyrene foam XPS, lamellas of glass and mineral wool, as well as for plastering flat surfaces or those with good load-bearing capacity, made of concrete and plaster. The recommended maximum thickness of the applied layer should not exceed 10 mm.
The adhesive-putty mixture is applied on surfaces that are: clean, unfrozen, dry, water-permeable, without salt stains on their surface, without crumbling or unfixed parts. The mixture is applied using the "stripe and ball method". The necessary amount of glue is estimated, depending on the plane of the base, as well as the thickness of the layer, which can be 1-2 cm. Under these conditions, the putty mixture must have a contact surface with the wall of at least 40%.
BAUMIT Prokontakt is applied to the surfaces if the air temperature is in the range of +5°C to 20°C. Any deviation from these values can delay or speed up, too much, the setting of the mixture. The necessary amount of water to dilute the glue is 4.5-6 liters per bag of BAUMIT Prokontakt. The cost rate for gluing and plastering is 3. 5-5 kg./sq.m.
